Busy, that\u2019s where. \u00a0Which accounts for the sparsity of my posts. \u00a0So much continues to happen: birthdays, soccer season, new jobs, old jobs, school at home and just the general life issues. \u00a0Plus, I must admit, we\u2019ve been in a bit of a funk looking for our lives and where we fit in our post-Protestant days. \u00a0I know, we\u2019ve been Catholic for almost 10 years. \u00a0You\u2019d think we\u2019d be settled in. \u00a0But we aren\u2019t. \u00a0Whatever glorious stories of Protestant Clergy Converts coming into the Church and finding a whole blessed ministry and new life in their new tradition you might have heard, it\u2019s not been our lives.<\/p>\n
I think at this point it might be our bishop, who for some reason has made it clear \u2018I don\u2019t serve their kind.\u2019 \u00a0I have met with several over the years, including individuals high up in the diocese, only to hit a dead end when it was all over. \u00a0The last individual had me ready to sign up. \u00a0I would be in charge of multiple parish Religious Education departments. \u00a0It would be tough, and I would be traveling from place to place. \u00a0 Wow! \u00a0Like pastoring a church? \u00a0I was so excited. \u00a0He loved what I had to bring through my experience, even though it\u2019s been years. \u00a0He was meeting with the bishop that very week, and was going to bring my name up. \u00a0After all, he said, they were having trouble finding people to fill such spots for all the parishes. It would be perfect.<\/p>\n
And then\u2026silence. \u00a0For weeks I waited. \u00a0I reached out, and heard nothing. \u00a0Just as I have so many times in the past. \u00a0And finally he responded: sorry, having\u2019 heard anything. \u00a0If I do, I\u2019ll let you know. \u00a0I\u2019ll keep you in my prayers. \u00a0Bless.\u2019 \u00a0And that was it, \u00a0Once again, we hit a wall and I fear it is our bishop, who isn\u2019t going anywhere soon. \u00a0But not just him. \u00a0As I wrote earlier, another diocese was hiring a person who would be in charge of Evangelical Ecumenical relations. \u00a0They needed someone with a religious degree (MDiv preferred), who knows the Bible and has experience with Church history. \u00a0I was denied the next day. \u00a0 They hired a fellow with a degree in communications and web development. \u00a0He was a life long Catholic. \u00a0He knew some Protestant friends in college.<\/p>\n
So that has left us swinging in the breeze. \u00a0Tomorrow, my wife and I meet with a priest to lay it out: we lost our lives when we became Catholic. \u00a0The lives my wife and I, and our boys, had together as Protestants. \u00a0We all took part in the ministry. \u00a0My boys and my wife and I were all together. \u00a0We all shared in the calling. \u00a0And then we became Catholic. \u00a0And while we\u2019re thankful we have jobs, and even some extra money, they are jobs. \u00a0Pushing paper. \u00a0Waiting for the departments to move or shut down and scramble for the next thing. <\/p>\n
We\u2019re trying to homeschool, but it is nigh on impossible when both parents have full-time jobs away from home. \u00a0Our youngest is barely holding on. \u00a0And when all is said and done, our big ministry contribution is being able to make it to church on Sundays. \u00a0So where to go now? \u00a0That is going to be the question. \u00a0Not an ultimatum. \u00a0But definitely it will set the stage for where we might go. \u00a0At this point, we so desire to bring our family back together as it used to be, we\u2019ve flirted with going into business! \u00a0Which isn\u2019t a solution, since neither my wife nor I have the skills needed for that. \u00a0But that\u2019s the point we\u2019ve come to. \u00a0So we\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n
There is much to talk about that has happened, as imprisoned state workers and murdered college students give us a portent of things to come for Christians in the coming years under the post-Christian secular leftist tyranny. \u00a0But for now, tomorrow is on our minds. \u00a0Please pray for us. <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
