Owing to my schedule, nothing happens in my life between Tuesday and either Friday or Saturday (and sometimes Monday, but usually not Sunday).\u00a0 Our weekend finished with a rousing burst of family time, preparing for our oldest\u2019s big day.\u00a0 That day came on Friday.\u00a0 I was able to get about five hours off early.\u00a0 His big desire that day was, in typical fashion, an afternoon with the family, and some games.\u00a0 That\u2019s him.\u00a0 We pulled if off nicely.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

The next day we had tickets to the Ohio State vs. Iowa game.\u00a0 I got those through my old alumni club.\u00a0 They happened to have a Tailgate and special offer for tickets that very weekend.\u00a0 Since it was that weekend, I asked for the day off and made that part of his birthday gift.\u00a0 It rained, and the food was horrible.\u00a0 Sorry Outback, but whatever it was we ate, my son called it \u2018that thing that was supposed to be meat.\u2019\u00a0 Because of the cold and the rain, there wasn\u2019t much\u00a0taking in the sights of the campus.\u00a0 We stayed in the Student Union.\u00a0 A newer building, it isn\u2019t the one that was there when I was\u00a0in school.\u00a0 That\u00a0was torn down several years ago.\u00a0 This\u00a0one is big, new, awesome \u2013 and without any particular memories for me.\u00a0 Maybe he\u2019ll have some if he goes to OSU. <\/p>\n

Then thankfully the rain stopped and we were able to take in the game.\u00a0 We were a bit worried the first half, but OSU finally found its pace and hasn\u2019t looked back since. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
