America, like the Christian West, is dying from sustained and relentless suicide.\u00a0 Having accepted that our heritage is the sole cause of sin and evil in the world, a growing number of generationals are concluding that no matter what woes may beset the world, it would be better off without the pesky Christian West, especially America.\u00a0 It\u2019s not a Left thing, though the enlightenment inspired revolutionary nature of the Left utilizes the old tactic of declaring as entirely evil the thing to be rebelled against.\u00a0 But even many who aren\u2019t on the Left are seeming to shrug their shoulders and say \u2018it\u2019s dumb, evil, good riddance.\u2019\u00a0 You can\u2019t sustain a civilization that nobody wants to sustain. <\/p>\n

Of course the reasons why some are dismissing the heritage of the West is because of that Woodstock era tendency of declaring everything to suck, while insisting it\u2019s everyone else\u2019s fault.\u00a0 In our polemical age, it\u2019s also easily done by just pointing to those other types and saying it\u2019s because of them.\u00a0 Or they were the problem.\u00a0 Or whatever.\u00a0 In the Catholic world, where fealty to Church should trump fealty to state, it\u2019s all the easier to start dismissing anything of value in our nation\u2019s\u00a0past. <\/p>\n

So Thomas McDonald<\/a>, and then Mark Shea<\/a>, both paused and said \u2018gee, perhaps that stenographer that had a meltdown<\/a> wasn\u2019t just someone with a mental case.\u00a0 You never know.\u00a0 Maybe, just maybe mind you, it could have been God speaking.\u2019\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Really?\u00a0 The whole \u2018we\u2019ve never been a nation under God, we are a vast conspiracy of Free Masons, we are a nation of evil\u2019?\u00a0 That could be God talking?\u00a0\u00a0 Even to consider the possibility means it\u2019s a possibility you\u2019re willing to consider.\u00a0 If that same woman had said the same about, say, the Catholic Church, would they have posted it under the title \u2018you never know, could be God talking\u2019?\u00a0 To do that means you have to be willing to accept the premise. <\/p>\n

While I would never, ever say that America and the Kingdom of God are one and the same, I also don\u2019t think it was all that bad.\u00a0 Certainly no worse than any other kingdom, nation or civilization in history.\u00a0 And yet two individuals who are not radical leftists nonetheless have come to the point of even entertaining the idea that this old country, to which who fewer and fewer people proudly pledge allegiance, was corrupted and wicked from the get go.\u00a0 Whether for secular or religious reasons, we never should have cared in the first place.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a bad sign.\u00a0 When individuals conclude their lives are worthless, have always been worthless, and there is nothing redeeming in their entire past after all, that\u2019s when you kick into high gear.\u00a0 From a counseling perspective, that\u2019s when you make sure serious measures are taken to help, because it can end horribly.\u00a0 When a nation concludes that there was never anything worthwhile after all, and it was all pretty bad from the beginning, it is on suicide alert.\u00a0 Those who could do something simply don\u2019t care to.\u00a0 And those who wish to do something to exploit it will succeed.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
