Of course it wasn\u2019t just the Fab Four. \u00a0Smoking and Rock and Roll went together like Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll. \u00a0We now know that all we need to do is throw condoms at the sex generation and all will be well. \u00a0Took about 30 million AIDS victims and endless tens of millions of other shattered lives to come to that conclusion (and in reality, the test results are still out on that one). \u00a0But at least we\u2019ve figured that one out.<\/p>\n

Drugs? \u00a0Well, we\u2019re pushing to legalize them. \u00a0We\u2019ve been fighting that fight for some time. If only we could legalize drugs, all would be well. \u00a0Of course we don\u2019t even know how many millions have died from drug overdoses, and the crime that is drug related (no doubt because they\u2019re not legal). <\/p>\n

And last but not least, we have smoking. \u00a0Smoking was quite the thing. \u00a0By the 60s, everyone knew smoking wasn\u2019t good for you, if we didn\u2019t know why. \u00a0Some of those wacky religious types were against smoking, but then they were just wacky religious puritan types. \u00a0Real cool people who mattered knew that smoking was the absolute coolest thing you could do (what did those button down conformist scientist types know when it came to things other than \u2018animals have sex, so it must be natural\u2019?). \u00a0So smoke away kids! \u00a0You\u2019ll be cool just like your heroes:<\/p>\n

Given the unimaginable tens upon tens of millions of lives lost, shattered, and ruined by following deliberately concocted propaganda and enticements aimed at the youth of four generations, it\u2019s just amazing how little we hold them accountable. \u00a0Why, they\u2019re off the hook. \u00a0We don\u2019t blame them for a single thing. \u00a0Now those stupid anti-smoking religious freaks\u2026<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
