Speaking of science, if I\u2019m reading the article correctly, it seems like Dr. Michio Kaku has concluded that the universe had to have been created by an intelligent being<\/a>. \u00a0Don\u2019t even wait for me to unpack the science. \u00a0I get String Theory about as much as I get women. \u00a0And let me tell you, that\u2019s not much. \u00a0I won\u2019t jump up and down or think this changes anything. \u00a0For all I know, he could run more experiments down the road and conclude something else. \u00a0This is just basic sciencing, inside science baseball stuff. \u00a0While there is room to look out on creation and conclude there is a God, it can\u2019t stop there. \u00a0We\u2019ll see what happens down the road. \u00a0At least it\u2019s a positive step for him.<\/p>\n

As for atheists whose belief about God necessitates the absence of God, this will be a minor speed bump. \u00a0They can conclude he\u2019s just musing, or it\u2019s a theory, or just a guess, or any one of a million different objections. \u00a0If you are sure you\u2019re right, you\u2019re not going to let a little thing like evidence or testimonies from those you respect make a difference.<\/p>\n

Hence the punchline of the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. \u00a0The point of that parable wasn\u2019t that Hell is a bad place with fire and brimstone. \u00a0It wasn\u2019t even about the wicked rich man stepping over the miserable Lazarus, though that literary canvas on which the punchline was painted should not be ignored. \u00a0No, the punchline is the rich man\u2019s cries to Abraham to rescue his living brothers from his own fate. \u00a0Do something!, he pleads, send Lazarus! \u00a0Abraham, unmoved, says they have all the testimony they need in Moses and the Prophets. \u00a0Well that hasn\u2019t done the trick! \u00a0So the rich man responds that seeing a dead man, they might be saved. \u00a0Not so fast, says Abraham. \u00a0If they don\u2019t believe Moses and the Prophets, then let\u2019s face it, they won\u2019t believe a dead man talking either. <\/p>\n

A lesson for atheists, scientists, religious, political advocates and social activists. \u00a0If you have looked at a tremendous amount of evidence and disregarded it, then there\u2019s little to suggest any more evidence will make a difference. \u00a0And that, folks, is a place none of us should want to be.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
