I like Nolen. Call me a blasphemer, but I preferred his grimy tale of magical\u00a0intrigue,\u00a0The Prestige<\/i>, to his \u00a0more celebrated Inception<\/i>. \u00a0Still, both excellent movies. \u00a0My boys are impressed with his rather restrained reliance on computer graphics. \u00a0I know he\u2019s used them (sometimes obviously), but I also know he shies from using them too much. \u00a0Thank goodness.<\/p>\n

But I had absolutely no idea that the unbelievably awesome\u00a0flipping\u00a0semi-truck stunt in The Dark Knight <\/i>was a real freaking stunt! <\/p>\n

My regard for Mr. Nolan just went up two points, and it was already hovering near the top of the scale. \u00a0And lest you fear that our lazy, crazy filmmakers are becoming too complacent and just leaning on CGI, there is some hope out there, as this<\/a>, this<\/a>, and this<\/a>\u00a0link show. \u00a0Warning, it is Cracked\u00a0website,\u00a0so the language and general attitude can be a bit under the holiness radar. \u00a0Plus, it includes movies from quite a long time ago. \u00a0Still, it should show\u00a0movie makers today that yes,\u00a0Virginia, fantastic scenes can happen without having to hit ENTER. <\/p>\n

BTW, it\u2019s in the American bloodstream to make fun of Disney\u2019s original Tron<\/i>. \u00a0But it was all black and white then hand painted? \u00a0I have to look into that. \u00a0If it\u2019s true and not a gag (it is Cracked, after all), I guess I have to add a couple digits to that movie as well.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
