Here<\/a>\u00a0he\u00a0obliterates\u00a0one of the most\u00a0annoying\u00a0memes to raise its stupid head in recent years: The dreaded \u201cRight Side of History.\u201d \u00a0At least as used as a debate stopper. As a student of history myself, I knew the phrase was utter BS. It meant nothing. \u00a0It was nothing but a secular version of \u2018I\u2019m on God\u2019s side.\u2019 \u00a0It\u2019s the primary mantra of the Gay Rights\u00a0Movement,\u00a0demonstrating\u00a0once again that the majority of the GRM is based on half truths, manipulated truth, and all out lies \u2013 with a smattering of asinine\u00a0and vacant arguments thrown in, like this one.<\/p>\nDreher nails it: everyone in history believed they were \u2018on the right side of history.\u2019 \u00a0We did in the skies over Hiroshima. \u00a0Hitler did at the rallies of Nuremberg. \u00a0Lenin did. \u00a0Jefferson Davis did. \u00a0Napoleon did. \u00a0William the\u00a0Conqueror\u00a0did. \u00a0Julius\u00a0Caesar\u00a0 \u00a0Genghis Khan. \u00a0Mao. \u00a0Pol Pot. \u00a0Charles Manson. \u00a0Pick a person from history. \u00a0Pick a hero, a villain. \u00a0Better yet, let\u2019s focus on the villains. \u00a0When you look back, you\u2019d be amazed at how few people given praise and honor stopped to say they were on the right side of history. \u00a0Some did, of course. The phrase itself comes from Martin Luther King, Jr., and his famous\u00a0statement\u00a0that those who stand up for justice will always be on the right side of history.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nTalk about overused, abused and radically misunderstood. \u00a0The Christina faith itself has its ideas of where history is going. \u00a0But the person who imagines he is\u00a0automatically\u00a0on the right side of history simply because he\u2019s obviously right is a person a thousand years ago who possibly would have imagined that he was on God\u2019s side storming into the Holy Land.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
