Of course it comes from FOX News. \u00a0Since Sandy Hook, the victims of that and other mass shootings would appear to be in one voice for one purpose: more gun control. \u00a0And yet, common sense says it\u2019s probably not true. \u00a0Just like the fabled 9\/11 Widows. \u00a0They were a group of about five women who were widows of 9\/11 victims, as the name suggests. \u00a0They got plenty of media attention for their harsh criticisms of then President Bush. \u00a0They were frequently interviewed, received almost star status, and were the voices of the 9\/11 attacks for some time. \u00a0Eventually it became clear that they were using their status to promote issues and agendas that had little to nothing to do with 9\/11. \u00a0They were also using their status to launch against Bush and the GOP in general. As it became obvious, they eventually faded into the sunset, I suppose because even the media could realize what was happening, and didn\u2019t want to get into whatever trouble the media doesn\u2019t want to get into. \u00a0<\/div>\n

Fast forward to today. \u00a0We hear story after story, and impassioned plea after\u00a0impassioned\u00a0plea from\u00a0survivors\u00a0of Sandy Hook, or parents of victims from there or other mass\u00a0shootings,\u00a0 calling for more gun regulations, more gun control, tighter laws, what have you. \u00a0I, for one, can see many flaws in the arguments for such things, even though my heart breaks for those who suffered such unimaginable loss. \u00a0I don\u2019t think anyone on any side of the issue\u00a0begrudges\u00a0them their anger or demands for action. \u00a0Which is why it wasn\u2019t hard to\u00a0believe\u00a0that MSNBC and other media outlets had\u00a0deliberately\u00a0fabricated a story about cold hearted\u00a0gun\u00a0clingers shouting down the father of a slain child<\/a>\u00a0from Newtown.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Nonetheless, sympathy is also for all people who have suffered due to such\u00a0shootings and other horrors. \u00a0 I\u00a0sympathized\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0seldom heard (except on FOX)\u00a0families\u00a0of 9\/11 victims who supported George Bush. \u00a0I\u00a0sympathized\u00a0with soldiers (again\u00a0on FOX) who stood in stalwart defense of our conflicts in Iraq and\u00a0Afghanistan\u00a0 \u00a0And I sympathize with Suzanna Hupp, who lost both parents to a mass shooting in Texas in the early 1990s. \u00a0Unlike many interviewed or referenced elsewhere, she stands against current gun control proposals. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Well, watch the clip here<\/a>. \u00a0I\u2019ll let her do the talking.\u00a0<\/div>\n

That\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0mean all of a sudden she is right, any more than soldiers or 9\/11 victims who supported the Iraq conflict or George Bush were right. \u00a0It means we should give both sides a respectful hearing. \u00a0I\u2019m posting this, rather than those who support more gun control, because I\u201dm sure they\u00a0have\u00a0had plenty of airtime. \u00a0God bless them. \u00a0I hope their voices are heard and respected. \u00a0But I also think the same respect should be given those who stand opposed to our own ideas, if the thought is we should listen to those who have suffered such pain. \u00a0If not, then it does make me wonder about just how important respecting people who have suffered such pain really is, you know what I mean?\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
