And even this<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

From Peter Jackson\u2019s \u201cThe Hobbit\u201d<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

I\u2019m reminded that\u00a0the\u00a0movie that really kicked the CGI\u00a0phenomenon\u00a0into high gear, had but a dozen and a half\u00a0minutes\u00a0or so of actual special dinosaur effects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Spielberg\u2019s vision of Chrichton\u2019s \u201cJurassic\u00a0Park\u201d<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

And many of those were not computer graphics at all. Just a thought, as even my boys admit they\u2019re getting tired of CGI, CGI, CGI. \u00a0As they said, it\u2019s like watching video games with\u00a0occasional\u00a0suits in them. \u00a0One of the reasons I like Christopher Nolan is his reluctance to rely too heavily on CGI effects, preferring, instead, the good old flesh and bones capabilities of actors, and brick and tree feel of real settings. Call me old fashioned, but that just hit me as my boys were fussing about the next string of upcoming video games<\/strike> movies out of Hollywood.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
