Or worse in some cases. \u00a0We\u2019re all used to seeing pictures of Hitler and the Nazi rallies at Nuremberg in all their glorious black and white. \u00a0But when you look at these color photos\u00a0<\/a>courtesy\u00a0of LIFE magazine, you realize these really were people, just like we see on the widescreen today, whipped into a frenzy by a complete coming together of all the\u00a0institutions\u00a0of\u00a0information\u00a0that the country could muster. \u00a0I\u2019ve often said that nuclear weapons were not the most dangerous weapons of the last century. \u00a0Nor were biological or chemical weapons the most dangerous. \u00a0That designation goes, IMHO, to mass media. \u00a0For in our age, in order to get common\u00a0sense\u00a0people ready to use some horrible weapon, or perpetrate some other terrifying deed, or promote an unthinkable evil (*cough* abortion), you need everything in an advanced society to come together to promote it, using all the information technology\u00a0available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
