Not that Sir Ian does a bad job. \u00a0But it\u2019s not Sir Ian. \u00a0Yes, the picture looks more like it as he\u2019s getting older, especially with the beard. But as Sir Ian explains here<\/a>, he\u2019s just acting the part (complete with\u00a0prosthetics\u00a0and altered voices). \u00a0On the other hand, look at John Huston in the first picture! \u00a0That was him. \u00a0That\u2019s what he looked like. \u00a0Toss on a wig, bush up the eyebrows, and you have Gandalf. \u00a0And that voice, that Huston-voice that held no rivals:<\/p>\n

I see a more robust and dynamic Gandalf to be sure. \u00a0Again, love the job Sir Ian did, but have always wondered about a movie in which Mr. Huston donned the grey and white.
