When Mark<\/a> Shea is right, he\u2019s right<\/a>. \u00a0Mark has spent years reminding us that science says we\u2019re all animals in a universe where the strong survive by consuming the\u00a0frail\u00a0and helpless. \u00a0It\u2019s a mystical, spiritual insight that suggests we\u2019re actually created equal by a Creator. \u00a0Since our crack intellectuals have been working to\u00a0remove\u00a0this silly religious stuff from our culture, we\u2019re left with the question: how will we continue believing all life is equally valuable without a religious grounding? \u00a0Atheists say that without religion, people would still come to all the right moral conclusions. So how will we do it? \u00a0We won\u2019t, says Mary Elizabeth Williams at Salon<\/a>. \u00a0Who cares if abortion is killing babies? Heck, who\u2019s to say what a baby even is? \u00a0<\/span>

<\/span>Once again, it\u2019s taking all the worst that humanity has offered, and filtering it through the cause of our own narcissism and selfishness. \u00a0It\u2019s the same contempt for life that pushed humanity past the brink of the Holocaust, the Killing Fields, the Gulags, but done not for some grand social experiment or sweeping national pride. \u00a0Instead, it takes all the worst that the last century accomplished, and embraces it for the sole purpose of our own desires, libidos, selfish greed. \u00a0Remember, abortion doesn\u2019t just save physical lives. \u00a0As Ms. Williams points out,\u00a0\u201cit saves lives not just in the most medically literal way, but in the roads that women who have choice then get to go down, in the possibilities for them and for their families.\u201d \u00a0A noble reason to redefine what human life is and when we get to abort it. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
