We lived on a little stub street name Hillside. \u00a0It was the early 1970s, and we had one of those big console televisions. \u00a0We had just moved in town, so for the first time we had cable TV \u2013 which meant a whopping 13 channels (including the all-important WUAB Channel 43, Lorain-Cleveland). \u00a0And every now and then, this commercial would pop up:<\/p>\n
Something about the sets, the music, the serious delivery of the host stuck with me for all these years, and through the miracle of the Internet, here it is! \u00a0I can\u2019t say it\u2019s what started my love for classical music, but I remember it nonetheless. \u00a0As my love of classical music grew, I would\u00a0occasionally\u00a0remember this commercial and say to myself, \u201cAha! \u00a0That\u2019s from that old commercial on TV.\u201d \u00a0I can still see the old green sofa and light yellow walls and the front door with those three descending windows in it. \u00a0Ah, memories.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
