And makes quite a few good points in the process<\/a>. \u00a0The emphasis is, of course, on the sudden\u00a0appropriateness\u00a0of this oft forgotten carol. \u00a0 But like any good piece, he gets in a couple other points, some that could be more pertinent to the subject than one might think at first glance. \u00a0 He mentions the old mystery plays that were popular throughout England, but were banned during that period of Protestant domination. \u00a0He then adds a little link,\u00a0sarcastically\u00a0pointing out that such brutal\u00a0oppression\u00a0of religion expression would never, ever\u00a0happened\u00a0in\u00a0enlightened\u00a0countries such as ours. \u00a0To me, that\u2019s pertinent because I am all about getting to the bottom of things, including why we have this growing trend of young, middle class white men\u00a0opening\u00a0fire in defenseless public places. \u00a0Just on CNN last night, they mused on the possibly of invoking racial profiling. \u00a0Perhaps we should. \u00a0But only if we can get to why they are the ones doing such things. \u00a0For me, one reason could be the ease with which the white male has been blamed for all things horrible. \u00a0What impact could that have on\u00a0otherwise\u00a0unstable young men? \u00a0Another, which Mr. McDonald points out<\/a>, and which I kicked around the other day<\/a>, \u00a0could be this growing trend of invoking censorship because everything offends me. \u00a0Who knows? A combination of these and other factors? \u00a0But all worth looking at, at least IMHO.
