At least in terms of weather. \u00a0October was pretty chilly, but then things got mild in November. \u00a0Wet and rainy throughout. \u00a0Then came December, with warm temps and dry conditions for the most part. \u00a0Well that went out the window. \u00a0We just got hit with the snow storm that swept through the Midwest. \u00a0Weren\u2019t hit as hard as some, \u00a0but harder than I think they were predicting. \u00a0Anyway, blogging will become lighter and lighter as the days progress. \u00a0I will handle fewer deep and serious topics, and focus more on God\u2019s direction, the boys, my\u00a0beautiful\u00a0wife, and the family. We\u2019ve been very fortunate, and have been the beneficiaries of some crazy levels of generosity from our families and Catholic brethren and sistren (more on that later). \u00a0Enough, at least, to make it a festive Christmas as we anxiously await the coming storm. \u00a0Prayers are still requested for gainful employment and that boat I talked about, or the background of these pictures will be a thing of the past. <\/p>\n

But for now, when reflecting on that moment of silence for the shooting victims last week<\/a>, and those precious angels who were taken from us far too soon, and those who died protecting them \u00a0\u2013 I must admit just having the boys with my wife and me and the family, no matter what, is cause for praise. \u00a0So here we are, playing in a winter wonderland, and waiting for the big day that\u2019s only just around the corner. \u00a0A\u00a0little\u00a0indulging\u00a0in my blessings I know, but it\u2019s my blog!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

You guessed it, he\u2019s talking about Yorick with a snowman\u2019s head<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not sure, but I think he\u2019s having fun<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

And after this, I explained to the little one why throwing heavy snowballs at our van was not a good idea<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

I just liked the picture, what a\u00a0charismatic\u00a0young fellow<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n\n\n\n\n

At some point later in the afternoon, the fireplace and hot chocolate began to\u00a0beckon<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

It was time for me to get into the act<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

And the boys decided the time had come for our annual snowman<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Really, it wasn\u2019t as urgent as this picture suggests (and yes, I seldom wear anything but\u00a0loafers)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Ta-da! \u00a0Snowman success, complete with strange charcoal outgrowths our youngest insisted were cheeks\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
