So three weeks ago we were facing almost certain financial ruin. \u00a0Bills weren\u2019t being paid, and we were informed that the only vehicle capable of hauling our family was in dire need of a new transmission. \u00a0Things looked as bleak as they have since we came into the Catholic Church in 2006. \u00a0Well, thanks to the intervention of some wonderful, Christ-inspired Catholics, we have been lifted out of that mess, it looks like the van thing should be countered, and that gives us a breathing space for a while. \u00a0It at least makes it possible to haul the family around in while we\u2019re working\u00a0things\u00a0out.<\/p>\n

But as I said in our \u2018answer to a prayer post\u2019, now that we\u2019ve received more than a few life preservers from good Catholics and parishes for the last few years, we would like to get into the boat. \u00a0We\u2019re a little tired of living from life preserver to life preserver. \u00a0We\u2019d\u00a0like\u00a0to be back in the boat. \u00a0Or, better yet, we\u2019d like to know how we\u2019re finally supposed to fit into this new Catholic life.<\/div>\n
It reminded me of that scene in the movie Apollo 13<\/i>. \u00a0After struggling to get the crew around the moon and just to the point of overcoming the greatest threats to their survival, the team at Houston is told it\u2019s time to work on getting them back home to earth. \u00a0And that\u2019s where we are. \u00a0After years, especially the last few months, of just struggling to survive and pay bills, and seeing that we have a little breathing space now, we\u2019d like to hear from God just how he plans on getting us home; in this case, able to care for our family and\u00a0children\u00a0while finding our place in our new Faith home. \u00a0I know it\u2019s\u00a0much\u00a0to ask. \u00a0I realize others are struggling as well. \u00a0But our burdens have a decidedly faith oriented dimension to them, and seeing us back up, ministering again, with purpose and at least enough to get by on for the kids, would go a long way in showing the naysayers, the skeptics, and even those in our family who have begun to wonder about our\u00a0conversion\u00a0under the\u00a0weight\u00a0of endless hardships directly related to our conversion, that this was\u00a0finally\u00a0the place we were always meant to be.\u00a0<\/div>\n
Let that be our prayer \u2013 show us the flight plan God, just like those\u00a0astronauts\u00a0were ready to see theirs. \u00a0<\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
