And when I step in and quote the Catechism\u2019s teachings on how we should deal\u00a0with\u00a0our fellow man? \u00a0I\u2019m called a\u00a0bourgeois\u00a0passive\u00a0aggressive\u00a0jack-ass who apparently doesn\u2019t care about children killed by drones since I mentioned, you know, the Catechism\u2019s teachings on how we should deal with our fellow man. \u00a0Yeah. \u00a0Read the comments in the second link. \u00a0When you\u00a0lambaste\u00a0someone for pointing out that you might be\u00a0doing\u00a0what you\u00a0lambasted\u00a0someone else for doing, to quote Jeff Foxworthy, you might be a fundamentalist.<\/p>\n

Oh, best point came from commenter Pancho.\u00a0Watching\u00a0me get tag-teamed on the thread, he pointed out that for folks all worried about the eternal damnation that could await us based on a single, simple vote, they don\u2019t seem at all worried about how the words we use affects us. Special kudos for picking up on the reference from James 3<\/a>. \u00a0Again, if you spend your time pointing out to other people the dangers of departing from a particular take on the Catechism and the Bishop\u2019s teaching about voting, while dismissing the possibility that you could be doing the same by departing from many takes on a teaching\u00a0pointed out in Scripture, you might be a fundamentalist.<\/p>\n
