In an editorial piece<\/a>, Mr. Greenfield makes it clear that the best man lost. \u00a0His\u00a0piece\u00a0is one big lament that Obama, who is clearly right and better than Romney, didn\u2019t demonstrate it better. \u00a0Perhaps, Mr. Greenfield suggests, it\u2019s because Obama just had too much confidence in\u00a0himself.<\/p>\n

If Obama had too much confidence, it didn\u2019t show. \u00a0Truth is, Mr. Greenfield\u2019s assumption\u00a0that\u00a0Obama is clearly the dude is what did Obama. \u00a0You see, it\u2019s almost a joke for most thinking people that for almost four years, the press has done nothing but support Obama, praise Obama, and give Obama a blank check. \u00a0Neither Clinton nor even Kennedy were ever given such a clear pond to skate. <\/p>\n

Even when things went terribly wrong, the press either found a way to blame republicans, allowed White House\u00a0operatives\u00a0to establish the official story (or sometimes, helped out by making suggestions themselves), or, as in the case of the embassy attacks and murders, simply chose to focus on: Romney! \u00a0It was this\u00a0refusal\u00a0to ever, and I mean ever, call Obama on anything that made Obama so\u00a0ill-prepared\u00a0to be called out on the carpet last night. <\/p>\n

Obama is used to showing up and by virtue of showing up, that\u2019s all that needs said. \u00a0That Romney took the bull by the horns, and with\u00a0respect\u00a0got into Obama\u2019s face, while firmly but politely keeping Jim Lehrer from stopping him and moving one once Obama spoke, completely caught Obama off guard. \u00a0He was to show up, give love to his wife, smile at the camera, and more or less repeat the talking points while the debate moved on. \u00a0He wasn\u2019t counting on a self-made\u00a0millionaire\u00a0holding off the moderator to go step by step back at what Obama said.<\/p>\n

And the results were telling. \u00a0Now the media, like Mr. Greenfield, will be stepping in to save the day. \u00a0Already we\u2019re getting treated to the old \u2018Obama just shines so bright, sometimes we can\u2019t comprehend it\u2019 spins, or in Mr. Greenfield\u2019s case, \u2018Obama was just so much better, why didn\u2019t he show it?\u2019 \u00a0Notice, also, the moving of the goal posts.<\/p>\n

Going into the debate, when everyone thought Romney would be made the fool in light of Obama\u2019s divine powers, every media pundit said it was make or break for\u00a0Romney\u00a0 \u00a0This debate, this debate alone, would decide Romney\u2019s fate. \u00a0Now, notice Greenfield. \u00a0It\u2019s now the polls. \u00a0If the polls don\u2019t show a major increase for Romney, then the election is over and Obama wins. \u00a0Huh? \u00a0So, Romney wins the debate because Obama should have done better at being better than Romney, so naturally if Romney doesn\u2019t take a commanding lead Obama, who lost the debate for not being more visibly superior to Romney, will win in\u00a0November?<\/p>\n

Uh huh. \u00a0Again, Obama\u2019s Achilles Heal last night was the press who spent four years not\u00a0preparing\u00a0him for what he encountered last night. \u00a0What comes around goes around I guess.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
