So the Griffey boys had hit a funk. \u00a0From MVP and\u00a0Varsity\u00a0qualifiers, to sudden drops all around. \u00a0My Cross Country runners had\u00a0descended\u00a0into a string of sub-par performances and our resident football player had gone from MVP to second string after two lackluster performances. \u00a0Well, it looks like the last week of September turned things around. <\/p>\n

Our oldest finally came back in one of the worst\u00a0environments\u00a0for a cross country run \u2013 after hours of\u00a0torrential\u00a0downpours forced the course to be redesigned due to standing water. \u00a0Next up, after two\u00a0sub-par\u00a0football performances, our 7th grader came back in the second half to at least point to what made him MVP early in the season. \u00a0And finally our 8th grader broke a string of\u00a0disappointments\u00a0that began in our only home middle school meet, when sickness and allergies caused a massive drop and almost inability to finish (despite this, he kicked it in during the last sprint to keep a runner from the other school from passing him). \u00a0Though not to his best, it was at least in the right direction, passing several teammates who had seized the moment to pass him the previous meets. \u00a0 This was capped off by our oldest today, finally getting by and getting closer than ever to\u00a0qualifying\u00a0for\u00a0varsity. \u00a0So well done boys. \u00a0Even when things get down, you can always pick back up. \u00a0No matter how low they go, there is always that\u00a0chance\u00a0to turn things around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
