A few days ago, I posted on some studies that suggest gay marriage could be bad for children<\/a>, and that birth control might cause health problems for women<\/a>.\u00a0 I wondered what media storm this would create.\u00a0 Well, I\u2019ve watched and waited.\u00a0 And waited.\u00a0 And waited.\u00a0 And sure enough, I\u2019ve not seen one story on television.\u00a0 True, I can\u2019t watch all channels all the time.\u00a0 But either story was mentioned at all, it was quick \u2013 zap! \u2013 and on with the NBC championship.\u00a0 I have a hunch that most major news outlets merely ignored the story.\u00a0 A couple Internet news sites jumped on them, invoking Reason #3<\/a> that such studies, in the end, are usually a colossal waste of time.\u00a0 But on the whole, nothing to see.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t fit the narrative.\u00a0 It\u2019s not the agitprop.\u00a0 It\u2019s not what we Americans are supposed to see, so please move on.\u00a0 Ignore that I brought it up.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure they were just flukes, or worse, the result of some vast, [fill in the blank] conspiracy.\u00a0 Just move on.\u00a0 Move on.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

P.S.\u00a0 As hip, enlightened post-moderns, are we bothered that our sources of information are so obviously biased?\u00a0 I mean, even if they\u2019re telling us what we want to hear.\u00a0 If they do that now, and it happens to be what we want to hear, what will we do if it ever becomes what we don\u2019t want to hear, or know to be false?<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
