On an atheist blog aptly named \u2018Crommunist Manifesto<\/a>\u2018, an entry inspired by P.Z. \u2019embrace Nazi-style hatred of religion\u2019 Meyers, a series entitled \u2018Because I am an atheist\u2026\u2019 has been posted.\u00a0 The dreadful misunderstanding of religious doctrine and theology is mind numbing, and it isn\u2019t hard to see why these individuals are atheists if that is what they think religion is all about.\u00a0 If that\u2019s what I thought religion was all about, I\u2019d be an atheist!\u00a0 My favorite was the individual could truly appreciate marriage, since clearly us religious types don\u2019t know anything about being married.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

But then it turns to a darker tone, as one rereads some of the posts, including that of the blogger himself.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\u201cFar more pragmatic and less self-reflectively thanatophobic than the first one, I realize that my body is a meat machine that has a lot of parts that can be inordinately useful to others when I\u2019m dead. I hold no reverent sentiment toward my meat \u2013 when I die, that\u2019s the end of me caring what happens to my body. Bury me, burn me, freeze me, shoot me into space, carve me up and use me as a bizarre sideshow in a Hallowe\u2019en display \u2013 I won\u2019t be around to have an opinion. However, I am cognizant of the fact that there are a lot of people who are literally dying to have a fresh shot at my slightly-used organs. If my atheism-fueled joi de vivre<\/em> leads me to a premature death in a freak motorcycle-jousting-with-a-tiger accident, let those salvageable bits of me go to some use!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yeesh.\u00a0 As I\u2019ve said before, the contempt that post-modern secularists have for human life has gone well beyond anything imagined in the late 19th century intelligentsia.\u00a0 At least they thought European life was somehow special, though some like Schopenhauer and Nietzsche properly understood that without God, all is pointless and it\u2019s dog-eat-dog, which is more ore less what our good atheist blogger is saying.\u00a0 Life is only worth something for the moment, for me<\/em>, based on me<\/em> having fun and doing what I<\/em> think is important because it\u2019s all about me<\/em>.\u00a0 If I\u2019m cut shot, so be it.\u00a0 Another slab of worthless meat for the grinder.\u00a0Welcome to the brave new world. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s a reason that over the centuries religion may have killed its millions, but within a matter of decades, the elimination of religion killed its tens of millions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
