Of course, there could be something to the thought that we live in a post-reality age.\u00a0 An age where nobody really cares about what\u2019s true, right, accurate, factual, or any such nonsense.\u00a0 An age of pundits, not principles. We just want our side to win.\u00a0 One of the greatest proponents of this \u2018might makes right\u2026thank goodness\u2019 attitude is, of course, Stanley Fish, law professor and writer who enjoys preaching the gospel of \u2018no rules, just win\u2019.\u00a0 Of late, he has posted for the New York Times<\/a> a crack piece of insight that cheers on the obvious double standard of those who praise Bill Maher while condemning Rush Limbaugh.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Not one to back out of a ludicrous position, Fish doesn\u2019t argue that there is some well founded reason that one could give Maher a pass while condemning Limbaugh without incurring the charge of hypocrisy\u00a0(because for common sense thinking people, there obviously isn\u2019t).\u00a0 Nope.\u00a0 He wants to cheer on the obvious double standard, insisting that it\u2019s time to dispense with all this \u2018do unto others\u2019 nonsense, and finally grip that true Darwinian ideal of \u2018might makes right\u2019.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

God help us that individuals such as Fish, in the shadow of the last century, wield such influence and input in the societal mindset of our present darkness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
