I can\u2019t figure out why, why, why so many in the conservative\/GOP movement have hitched their wagons to defending torture.\u00a0 No, strike that.\u00a0 Not just defending, but proudly advocating and celebrating it.\u00a0 I mean, geeesh.\u00a0 If I was going to condone it, defend it, say it was needed since terrorists basically throw the rules of war out the window and base their entire grand strategic overviews on things condemned by every modern civilized state, I would like to think I\u2019d hang my head in shame.\u00a0 I\u2019d do it in behind closed doors, in whispered tones and hushed voices.\u00a0 In candlelight.\u00a0 Behind the crates in the corner.\u00a0 <\/p>\nBut no.\u00a0 Hell no.\u00a0 The only party with a chance for stopping Obama\u2019s disastrously inept presidency has decided it will grab the pompoms and give a shout of joy for what we used to associate with the Vietcong, the Gestapo, the KGB, the Chinese Communists.\u00a0 This is stuff that American Indians did that used to be a blight on their claim to the moral high ground (at least for non-multiculturalists).\u00a0 So why do they have to cheer?\u00a0 Why do Limbaugh, O\u2019Reilly, Bachmann,\u00a0Cain\u00a0and others have to act as if it\u2019s a badge of honor that they want this to be our policy?\u00a0 It does make voting for a third party candidate seem more appealing by the hour.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
