You could tell by all the cheering<\/a>.\u00a0 Naturally there are some who sympathize that Bin Laden is gone.\u00a0 But then, there are people who mourn Hitler.\u00a0 Ironic that we found out about Bin Laden\u2019s death on the same day \u2013 May 1 \u2013 that the death of Hitler was announced.\u00a0 While there is no real desire to cheer the death of any human being made in the image of God for whom Christ died, there is a feeling of justice I can\u2019t deny.\u00a0 Bin Laden didn\u2019t have to die this way, bloody and violent.\u00a0 He sealed his own fate by the course in life he\u00a0chose \u2013 a path filled with the blood of thousands of innocents.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Sure, there is a stale, empty feeling in it all.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t lose a loved one to Bin Laden.\u00a0 I can\u2019t imagine what this news will be for those who did.\u00a0 Each will have his or her own way of dealing with it I guess. As a Christian, I think it falls into the notion of justice.\u00a0 There is a justice in creation, a real, objective justice.\u00a0 While we can pray for the Bin Ladens, the Stalins, the Hitlers, the other human nightmares of the world, there seems to be some mechanism whereby God will not be mocked.\u00a0 Somehow, some way, those who do such things get theirs.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

And while loving my enemy is something we are called to do, I don\u2019t begrudge or judge those who have more difficulty than I, since I have nothing I have lost due to\u00a0Bin Laden directly.\u00a0 Most of my country\u2019s problems predate 9\/11, and have had little to do with 9\/11 since.\u00a0 It\u2019s easy for me to say I forgive, or pray. I didn\u2019t lose anyone because of him.\u00a0 But while it is a difficult thing to cheer at a death, I suppose if anyone deserved such\u00a0 a violent, bloody death today, it was him.\u00a0 And that because of the life he chose.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

So here\u2019s kudos to the military units that made this happen.\u00a0 Here\u2019s to our nation and our government, enduring each other and the usual difficulties\u00a0of history to see this through.\u00a0\u00a0 And here\u2019s to those who will grieve this man as a relative or loved one.\u00a0 I suppose that would be tough to know one\u2019s loved one caused such horror and death to so many.\u00a0 May God receive Bin Laden into His arms, and let His justice, mercy, and will be given in accord with God\u2019s wisdom and righteousness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
