And the European Union reacts.\u00a0 Or at least reacts to China\u2019s crackdown on everyone but Christians, if this article<\/a> in the Associated Press is to be taken at face value.\u00a0 Just a couple days ago, a well publicized story ran detailing a recent raid by China<\/a> on home churches that refuse to buckle under Chinese law that demands all religious practice be controlled by the state.\u00a0 Yesterday, I saw another story\u00a0reporting on Christians stopped from trying to pray in public<\/a>.\u00a0 After wondering where the official outcry was, I then saw this headline stating that a EU official was decrying China\u2019s crackdowns.\u00a0 Innocent babe that I was, I figured this was in relation to the recent story of persecuted Christians.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

But not so!\u00a0 It was dealing exclusively with China\u2019s arresting of various reformists and critics.\u00a0 Now I\u2019m all for the EU going after China for oppressing lawyers, artists, activists, and others calling for Middle Eastern style revolts.\u00a0 But if the AP is to be believed, there was no real concern about the well publicized crack down on religious (Read: Christian) communities in recent days.\u00a0 In fact, it is conspicuously absent.\u00a0 Perhaps there\u2019s more behind it than what the AP reported.\u00a0 And if it were any other organization than the EU, I might be inclined to assume it was the AP\u2019s spin on things.\u00a0 But in this case, it\u2019s hard to guess which one is shining the light on all but religious persecution.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
