Over at the Huffington Po<\/a>st, Robert Lanze, M.D., tries to explain that science can explain everything, including what science can\u2019t explain.\u00a0 Basically it\u2019s \u2018How do we give meaning to a race of people who have been told they are nothing but biological accidents who will die and rot in the grave \u2013 without straying from the idea that science has to explain everything.\u2019<\/p>\n

It seems strange to imagine that everything has to be explained by the physical sciences.\u00a0 Physical science is great \u2013 for explaining the physical universe.\u00a0 But to imagine that unless there is a physical scientific explanation, it can\u2019t exist, is odd to me.\u00a0 Especially when I imagine just how many things we are wrong about now that, a thousand years from now folks will laugh about.\u00a0 I actually imagine a time, sometime around the year 3011, when a child will ask his father, \u201cDaddy, do you mean people in the 21st century actually believed that science could explain everything, and if science couldn\u2019t explain it, it didn\u2019t exist?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>
\u201cYes, son, that\u2019s what people believed.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>
\u201cWell, that was silly wasn\u2019t it?\u201d <\/span>
N<\/span>ope, for me I\u2019m content with saying there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our philosophies \u2013 or sciences.<\/p>\n

And the funny thing\u00a0is?\u00a0 There is nothing in any science today that can prove or disprove my prediction.\u00a0 The world will have to wait.\u00a0 Whether I am right or wrong, at this point in history, depends on what we belive in the first place.\u00a0 And that\u2019s sort of the point, isn\u2019t it.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
