Again, I\u2019m becoming convinced that the gay rights movement is the emergent Left\u2019s primary hammer with which to bludgeon the right not to conform to the emergent Left.\u00a0 In this little story<\/a>, we see that gay rights advocates are incensed that Chick-fil-A supports beliefs systems that don\u2019t conform to the dogmas of gay rights.\u00a0 A couple things jumped out at me.\u00a0 First, apparently a Muslim and Hindu employee filed a lawsuit against the company for overtly practicing Christianity.\u00a0 The fact that it was settled made me wonder at what point will this stop.\u00a0 If I work for a Hindu restaurant or Muslim bakery that flaunts its religion can I sue?
Second, how utterly predictable this is.\u00a0 I\u2019m one who believes all of those lofty promises of the post-War liberal movements were just bunk.\u00a0 Either lies, or the result of arrogance and na\u00efvet\u00e9.\u00a0 In any event, the notions of a pluralistic, tolerant, open minded, and diverse society are quickly going the way of the butter churn.\u00a0 And it\u2019s doing so in exactly the same intolerant, close minded way that once was condemned by those who promoted such things as gay rights.<\/p>\n

This particular sentence struck me:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt literally leaves a bad taste because I know the people who are putting this food in my mouth actively loathe me,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m all for freedom of religion, it\u2019s just that I know where I want my money to go and I don\u2019t want my money to go.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That was by Douglas Quint, operator of The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck.\u00a0\u00a0 What hit me about this was the utter stupidity of it.\u00a0 After all, weren\u2019t we once told how stupid, intolerant and prejudiced people used to be because they wouldn\u2019t buy a product from someone of a different religion, or ethic group, or similar distinction?\u00a0 Remember those days?\u00a0 Remember when it was a sign of unenlightened neanderthal culture to refuse to eat at a place just because someone was different that you, thought different than you, believed different than you?\u00a0 Why, that was strictly Archie Bunker, straight out of the Middle Ages.<\/p>\n

Well, I give you the Middle Ages \u2013\u00a0hip, sophisticated, enlightenment, LGBT style.\u00a0 And if the emergent Left has anything to say about it, I\u2019m sure it\u2019s not the last we\u2019ve heard. <\/p>\n
