Why should thinking people have a hard time accepting Leftists perspectives?\u00a0 Michael Moore\u00a0demonstrates.\u00a0 This is from his interview on Rachel Maddow\u2019s show on MSNBC.\u00a0 It\u2019s the whole thing, so you may want to fast forward to around the 5 minute mark.\u00a0 You can, of course, watch the whole\u00a0interview and hear some of what Mr. Moore has to say.\u00a0 But the slam dunk dumb comesafter 5:00.\u00a0 Basically, Moore is asking the right question: why is there such violence in America with guns, when other countries don\u2019t have such violence.\u00a0 Not just in terms of gun laws (which he is, obviously, in favor of having more), but as a society, what\u2019s the difference?\u00a0 A good, fair question.\u00a0 One that needs asked about this and a great many other issues.<\/p>\n
He then points out that most people who own the guns live in safe neighborhoods, rural communities, suburbs.\u00a0 He mentions that doctors and others have guns, and live where the crime rate is relatively low.\u00a0 Now a thinking person could be forgiven for concluding that the reason for the low crime rates could be because of knowledge of widespread gun ownership.\u00a0 That having all these guns must therefore be a deterrent, since Mr. Moore admits that both are true.\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s a fact, and more information would be needed.\u00a0 But you could be forgiven for leaping to the\u00a0conclusion that if areas with the most gun ownership have the lowest crime rates, there could be a connection?<\/p>\n
But is this the connection he makes?\u00a0 Heck no.\u00a0 He decides this is because gun owners are more or less a bunch of racists.\u00a0 Since there really isn\u2019t crime, why do they own guns?\u00a0 Because they are afraid of black people, that\u2019s why.\u00a0 I know, it makes your head spin that something like this would pass for serious debate.\u00a0 It is on MSNBC after all.\u00a0 But still, it says something about the world view of the modern Leftist.\u00a0 When I see this, how everything is based on skin color by the very side of the aisle that insists we worship and venerate Martin Luther King, Jr., I can\u2019t help but catch the irony.\u00a0 More and more I\u2019m convinced that MLK is just a Peter Pan character that those on the Left use to make themselves feel good, and as a shield to push forth the idea that they by default occupy the moral high ground.\u00a0 Yet look and listen, and that\u2019s a conclusion at which that nobody should arrive.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
