like this<\/a> can\u00a0overstate the case, and try to make too much out of a little anecdote here or document there.\u00a0 Most historians worth their salt know that the picture presented in the popular mindset about the Middle Ages is inaccurate.\u00a0 It\u2019s more in line with a Hollywood fantasy film than accurate history.\u00a0 Also, this book appears to be written by someone with more interest in science than history.\u00a0 The fact that the period of time properly falls within the period of the Early Middle Ages, rather than the Dark Ages as the book\u2019s title suggests, gives me pause.\u00a0 Still, I haven\u2019t read it, so perhaps it will be a great resource for Medieval Studies.\u00a0 We\u2019ll have to see. <\/p>\nIn fact, it could be\u00a0a good companion to help add to the documentation that our popular perception of the Medieval Period is largely based on myth, fables, and fairy tales.\u00a0 They weren\u2019t everything we are often led to believe, and therefore, even something as over the top as \u2018everything we know is wrong\u2019 can\u2019t help but set some of the record straight.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
