Strangely, the History Channel is suddenly worried about accuracy<\/a>.\u00a0 It decided that an eight part series on the Kennedy family wasn\u2019t worth \u2018the history brand\u2019.\u00a0 Now, the History Channel has become the National Enquirer<\/em> of historical studies.\u00a0 Most of its shows \u2013 those few that have anything to do with history \u2013 are just tabloid junk, sensationalistic tale telling, usually shot through with myriad progressive and secular interpretations of events.\u00a0 Anything of the Christian Western tradition is raked through the mud, icons of liberal and secular thought are, naturally, elevated to near god status.\u00a0 There was a time when cable shows tried to be accurate (always remembering that history is an art, not a science, and always open to certain levels of interpretation).\u00a0 They attempted to be as accurate as possible.\u00a0 In recent years, that is no longer the case.\u00a0 From flat out inaccuracies to over the top stereotypes and generalizations, I wouldn\u2019t waste time on most modern History Channel series if I had to.\u00a0 Why the sudden concern then?\u00a0 My guess, because of this little bit in the story:<\/p>\n
