So last night we were up late waiting for our young\u2019un to get to sleep.\u00a0 Singing in the Rain<\/em> was on TCM.\u00a0 We kicked back and watched it until there was silence coming out of his bedroom.\u00a0Then we had to get to bed. \u00a0I didn\u2019t get to see the<\/em> number, so I looked it up on YouTube.\u00a0 After all, what\u2019s watching Singing in the Rain without seeing the<\/em> dance routine, probably one of the best in movie history.<\/p>\n

What makes it wonderful is the joyful simplicity of it.\u00a0 In the day, multiple entertainers would perform and release the same song.\u00a0 So Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland \u2013 you name it \u2013 had performed their own versions of Singing in the Rain<\/em>.\u00a0 Each one wanted to put their own unique mark on the song.\u00a0 But it was Gene Kelly who realized what better way to perform a song titled Singing in the Rain<\/em>, than by singing it in the rain?\u00a0 Brilliant.\u00a0I\u2019m not necessarily a connoisseur of dancing, but I admit I envy his easy grace and style.\u00a0 Enjoy:<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
