<\/a><\/div>\n\u2026 John Lennon was murdered by a crazed assassin.\u00a0 It was tragic, sad, and a loss.\u00a0 An important human being taken in the prime of his life when he was finally getting things put back together.\u00a0 That\u2019s pretty much it.\u00a0 I don\u2019t subscribe to the hero worship of the post-Boomer left.\u00a0 My passions and energies and thoughts about such things were poured out yesterday on that other anniversary.\u00a0 I realize this is the 30th anniversary, and those 10s mean things.\u00a0 And for those who are into the Second America, molded in the ideals of the post-war left, because they tend to dominate the media, culture, and education systems of our country, will have plenty of time and resources to reflect, mourn, salute, celebrate, and remember the likes of Lennon, or Kennedy, or King.\u00a0 That\u2019s fine.\u00a0 But again, I\u2019ll stick with remembering the death of a young man as tragic, but also lament the passing of those whose contributions, while not as famous, were no less important.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
