Perhaps I\u2019m cynical, but whenever I hear something like this<\/a> before a movie comes out, it makes me itch.\u00a0 It sounds like the director is saying \u2018you\u2019ll see lots of computer graphics and neat action sceness, but don\u2019t expect anything from the actual book.\u2019\u00a0 I realize film is a different medium than literature.\u00a0 I know movies have to make changes.\u00a0 But they better make good changes, not ones that take away from the finished product.\u00a0 They had better use the medium to its best advantage, like the final assassination of the heads of the Five Families in the Godfather<\/em>, versus cockamamie subplots about cranky overprotected immortal fathers in Lord of the Rings<\/em>.\u00a0 What director Michael Apted means by changes we\u2019ll have to see. For most Christians, the diluted messages of the first two films was a bit of a disappointment, though not so much as to be unwatchable.\u00a0 Will the changes be for the better?\u00a0 Don\u2019t know. We\u2019ll have to see.\u00a0 But it\u2019s already put one red flag up, and I haven\u2019t even paid $20.00 for the popcorn yet.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
