Time Magazine<\/em> tries to help out the White House <\/a>by speculating about why President Obama is unpopular. Hint: It couldn\u2019t be because he\u2019s an inexperienced amateur who obviously doesn\u2019t know how to get things done.\n

I\u2019m sure there are many reasons, and no doubt the pundits will bring their own agendas to the table when they discuss them. But for me, it was inevitable. No one can be lifted up that high without preparing for a fall. Since George Washington, not a single president was ever compared to God the way Obama was; and I\u2019m not sure if Washington was made coequal with the Divine. Liberal Democrats, and others not in the mainstream press, went out of their way to make it clear that electing Obama was a forgone conclusion. Why? Because he was Obama, that\u2019s why. Beyond the not-too-subtle \u2018only racists Nazis would vote against him anyway\u2019 meme, there was plenty of god-worship to go around, a veneration beyond even that given to Mr. Washington all those years ago. <\/p><\/div>\n

News anchors almost needed a cigarette after listening to him talk, he was compared to Jesus, God, greater than God. We were told history would now be divided between before and after Obama (though we could never use AO<\/span> and BO, for obvious reasons). In short, we were not getting a president, we were having nothing less than an epiphany, the face of God revealed. When you build up something like that, expect disappointment. And that\u2019s just what we got.\n

In fairness to the President, he could have cured Cancer, ended hunger, brought back the sun, and aligned the planets and in no way managed to live up to the hype. Never mind that most of his behavior has been business as usual. Never mind his bucking public opinion on a constant basis \u2013 though in honesty, the public isn\u2019t always right, so that\u2019s not a bad thing in and of itself. Never mind his constant fumbling, bumbling and yes I\u2019ll say it, inability to convey a coherent thought without a teleprompter. If he were 100% A++ in everything, he still could not have lived up to the hype. So want to know why his popularity is down? Not because them voters ain\u2019t smart like all the really intellectual types who are hip to the real Truth of Obama\u2019s<\/span> inherent greatness. It\u2019s at least partially because of the ridiculous over the top hype that brought President Obama into the White House in the first place. And if Liberals and Democrats want to blame anyone for that, I suggest they find the nearest mirror. <\/p><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
