Rape Melania! \u00a0Or so the sign said at one of the protests<\/a>. \u00a0Now I\u2019m not going to play that little game. \u00a0Unless I\u2019m sorely mistaken, about 99.999999% of all liberals I know will choke on seeing such a disgusting thing and will immediately call it out for what it is: Pure evil. \u00a0I don\u2019t play that game. \u2018Oooooh. \u00a0Let\u2019s fine some picture, or article, or blog piece that points to some obscure corner of nowhere on the Internet and use it to attack an entire group of people.\u2019 \u00a0 I get there are bad apples, and they exist in every demographic barrel you can imagine.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not to say things like racism or sexism or bigotry or hate don\u2019t exist in the broader context. \u00a0 That\u2019s not to say if someone is doing something or saying something that is embraced by a sizable number of people that it shouldn\u2019t be pointed out. \u00a0It is to say that looking for the absolute worst we can find in order to suggest that those who stand on some other side of an issue are represented by that filth does no good.<\/p>\n

So this isn\u2019t to say most protesters, or Trump opponents, or liberals or anyone else is represented by such a horrible sign. \u00a0It is to point out the stunning disregard that the media has for this when it obviously doesn\u2019t fall alongside their particular narratives is the problem. \u00a0Imagine if this was, heaven forbid, a \u2018rape Hillary\u2019 or \u2018rape Michelle\u2019 sign. \u00a0Bet me. \u00a0What do you think that every major publication would have had this as its banner headline today, with CNN, MSNBC, and the networks all leading top story at the top of the hour. \u00a0I don\u2019t have to. \u00a0Most segments began this morning\u2019s news with \u2018racism and hate crimes from Trump supporters\u2019 stories. \u00a0Not a single one mentioned this.<\/p>\n

If you can\u2019t tell, it\u2019s not those on the right or left I condemn so much as it is the modern incarnation of our propaganda ministry. \u00a0It divides, it lies, it suppresses stories while elevating others. \u00a0It deliberately stokes the passions and incites hatred by selectively elevating some headlines and stories and all but ignoring others. \u00a0As John C Wright says here<\/a>, it\u2019s the Mouth of Sauron. \u00a0Flee from it.<\/p>\n

I mean, the link above was the only major publication I found even mentioning this. \u00a0And then look at it! \u00a0All it says is \u2018gee, Twitter trended with a protester holding up a sign calling for the rape of Melania Trump. That\u2019s interesting. \u00a0Trump supporters seemed pissed. \u00a0Not everyone ran with it, but it seemed popular.\u2019 \u00a0Really? \u00a0My goodness people. \u00a0See it for what it is. \u00a0No matter how beneficial it is to your cause, denounce it. \u00a0Because in ten or twenty years, it might be you that finds yourself in the media\u2019s cross hairs, either being dragged forth on some obscure triviality elevated to a national crisis, or by your legitimate fears and sufferings no longer making the grade because they are no longer convenient.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
