Then I think we can\u00a0back off when it comes to snickering at the average Jane and Joe Catholic trying to make sense of\u00a0Amoris Laetetia<\/a>. \u00a0Apparently some Catholics find it impossible to grasp that others might not get certain teachings of the Church, or the latest pronouncements by this or that pope. \u00a0Well, I guess some Catholics just aren\u2019t as smart as others. \u00a0Or maybe not as obedient. \u00a0Or perhaps they don\u2019t love Jesus enough. \u00a0In my Protestant days, that was assuming those others just don\u2019t believe\u00a0the Bible is the Word of God.<\/p>\n

Whatever, it\u2019s a way people have of saying \u2018case closed, I\u2019m obedient and faithful, and you can agree or not be obedient or faithful.\u2019 \u00a0I admit that the tendency of some Catholics to act no different than an old stereotypical fundamentalist, replacing the King James with the Catechism, is interesting. \u00a0Nonetheless, I think it\u2019s fair to say that some Catholics want to make sure they understand, and for whatever reason, Amoris Laetetia is still presenting more questions than it\u2019s answering. \u00a0 So ask away. \u00a0I\u2019ll assume nothing other than you want to understand.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
