I figure if we can do this for ISIS or any other Islamic terrorists, doing it for Steve Bannon or anyone else in the \u2018Alt Right\u2019 should be a cinch. \u00a0That\u2019s not to say we condone what they do or say, or support the organizations as a whole. \u00a0Of course not. \u00a0Nobody ever condoned Muslim terrorism. \u00a0Minimized the role that Islam played in their motivation perhaps. \u00a0Tried to understand their anger or rage in light of our meddling foreign policy or economic oppression by way of Western Capitalism. \u00a0But at no point did anyone ever actually say what these various terror groups did was good. \u00a0Sometimes we were told that opposing terrorism, like fighting a home intruder, could be justified. \u00a0But the emphasis was always on the Christian response of love.<\/p>\n

So the same for Mr. Bannon<\/a>. \u00a0Truth be told, I don\u2019t know much about Steve Bannon except what I\u2019ve heard. \u00a0As a general rule, I don\u2019t go to Breitbart News, for the same reason I don\u2019t go to Daily Kos or Mother Jones. \u00a0Too extreme and partisan. \u00a0There certainly appears to be problems with what he\u2019s said, if the quotes I\u2019ve read are any indication. \u00a0And as a conservative Christian I\u2019m obviously no fan of the Alt Right, since the few I\u2019ve seen who are proud of that label appear to be hell and gone from traditional, conservative Christian values. \u00a0Some of them, in fact, don\u2019t appear to like conservatives at all.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, given the high bar for love and forgiveness, prayer and service that we\u2019ve seen directed at Islamic terrorists and anyone else who would attack our brothers and sisters, or fellow countrymen, I\u2019m sure the Alt Right and its representatives deserve the same. \u00a0And so do those of the Alt Left. \u00a0 Liberals. Democrats. \u00a0Republicans. \u00a0Even some conservatives. \u00a0 It\u2019s the Christian, not partisan, response.<\/p>\n
