Then don\u2019t be a minister. \u00a0 Being in ministry means realizing there is no base standard that everyone has to achieve before being worthy of consideration. \u00a0Some people are so advanced in their faith they\u2019re asking for answers I never even knew existed. \u00a0Others are still shocked do hear that Jesus died since they didn\u2019t even know he was sick.<\/p>\n
The fact is, we are all in this together, trying to make the best sense out of these decades on Earth we\u2019ve been given. \u00a0That goes for the religious believer and the non-religious believer. \u00a0Within the realm of Faith, it takes on different forms, but the basics are the same. \u00a0We\u2019re trying to grow, figure things out, make sense of where we are and how to get where we want to be. \u00a0Working out our salvation with fear and trembling is how Paul describes the process. \u00a0And that means all of us.<\/p>\n
I know little about the \u201cAlt Right.\u201d \u00a0For most of my adult life, the Right in general was accused of being what the Alt Right is described as now. \u00a0I\u2019m sure there are some bigots and hateful types in it, as there are among conservatives in general. \u00a0Liberals, too. \u00a0And probably in the Alt-Left just the same. \u00a0Whether Steve Bannon cheers the worst or not, I don\u2019t know. \u00a0I\u2019m seeing quotes and references suggesting so, but there as many quotes and references suggesting otherwise.\u00a0For those not in the loop, I\u2019d welcome questions and those who provide substantive evidence. \u00a0I don\u2019t mean from partisan sites. \u00a0Nor do I mean from anyone who defines racism so loosely it can apply to minorities who don\u2019t conform to ideologies as much as to men in white hoods burning crosses.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s part of ministry. Questions, answers, seeking truth. \u00a0 The moment\u00a0we begin judging\u00a0the motives or intentions of people in order to dismiss their concerns is the moment our worth in the Gospel ministry has officially passed its sell-by date. \u00a0Because remember, the one who receives the most benefit from ministry is, well, the minister.<\/p>\n
For all I think I have to say, I learn more from those who post comments \u2013 including those who disagree. \u00a0I might not change my tune, but it gets me to think. \u00a0And maybe, just maybe, something I say might get someone to think, too. \u00a0And that\u2019s what it\u2019s all about. \u00a0The purpose of ministry \u2013 including apologetics \u2013 is not to win arguments, but to win souls. \u00a0So assume if someone has a question, or even disagrees, that they are working things out every bit as much as we are. \u00a0And if they disagree? \u00a0Who knows, there might be something they\u2019re seeing that we, for all our advanced knowledge, might have missed.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
