Trump will be our next president<\/a>. \u00a0Now it is in his court. \u00a0 Michael Goodwin breaks down the expectations, how we got here, the good, the bad, and the stupid.<\/a><\/p>\n

With that said, he\u2019s my president, and I\u2019ll support him insofar as he is doing what is good, and not doing what is wrong. \u00a0I won\u2019t spend the next four years jumping up and down and whining and looking for each and every little thing out there to nail him on. \u00a0I won\u2019t put words in his mouth and say he\u2019s wrong for saying what he didn\u2019t say. \u00a0No \u2018Trump is Wrong 24\/7\u2019 headlines. \u00a0If you\u2019ve been around my blog, you know I didn\u2019t hesitate\u00a0to call out Obama when I thought he was wrong. \u00a0But I didn\u2019t have daily Obama Trash Fests either.<\/p>\n

Why? One, I think that does no good. \u00a0Two, I might end up looking rather silly. \u00a0After all, the much talked about recounts only happened in one state, delivering a few more votes for Trump.<\/p>\n

And three, I might be part of opening up a Pandora\u2019s box that future generations will need to fix. \u00a0So some were\u00a0all about the Electors chucking the process and not voting for Trump. \u00a0Only two Republican electors did that. \u00a0On the other hand, more\u00a0Democrat electors went against Hillary<\/a>. \u00a0But they didn\u2019t pick Trump, and some didn\u2019t pick Sanders. \u00a0They picked who they bloody well wanted.<\/p>\n

And that, of course, is a problem. Not necessarily this time around. \u00a0But talk about setting a precedent for future chaos. \u00a0No rules, just me. \u00a0When at first you don\u2019t succeed, cry, cry again. This\u00a0all came about because of the screams and shouts and feet stomping over wanting to overthrow the election by any means possible. \u00a0 Not a good trend. \u00a0Which is why I\u2019ll be more critical of out of control critics. \u00a0A president can cause mischief. \u00a0A society that embraces mischief will enshrine it.<\/p>\n

Our Constitution\u2019s Preamble says it best (come on, you all know the song from School House Rock): \u00a0Establish a more perfect Union. \u00a0For ourselves and our posterity. \u00a0It isn\u2019t perfect now. \u00a0It probably won\u2019t ever be perfect. \u00a0But we try. \u00a0And we don\u2019t just try\u00a0for ourselves. \u00a0We try\u00a0for our posterity.<\/p>\n

So the baby-fussing that brought about electors who felt they could \u00a0just vote however they want is step one. \u00a0Before we get to step two, let\u2019s all grow up. \u00a0Let\u2019s ditch the Alt-Left mantra of \u2018Not Our Country, Sure as Hell Not Your Evil Country, only My Country\u2019 and try to come together where we can. \u00a0Admit nobody is always right. \u00a0Nobody is always wrong (even Trump!). \u00a0 And let\u2019s see.<\/p>\n
