An important day in history, at least IMHO. Tolkien\u2019s 125th Birthday<\/a>.<\/p>\n Here are a few<\/a>\u00a0older posts<\/a> I did on birthdays past. \u00a0Including \u00a0a rather prophetic prediction<\/a>\u00a0about Peter Jackson\u2019s The Hobbit<\/em>.<\/p>\n My only regret is that, a few years ago, I was visiting a blog run by an English professor. \u00a0That is, a literature professor from England. \u00a0He is a fan of Tolkien, too. \u00a0But he did a post, almost apologetically, in which he declared that most don\u2019t associate Tolkien with deep thinking.<\/p>\n I still want to go back and ask him exactly what he considers to be deep thinking? \u00a0Someday I might. \u00a0For now, none of that. \u00a0We\u2019ll break out the ale and the pies, chip the glasses and crack the plates, and settle down for a nice read from the tale of tales<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bonus fun stuff:<\/p>\n
