For my part, I accept climate change. \u00a0After all, it\u2019s happened before. \u00a0I looked out my windows yesterday and noticed there were no glaciers.<\/p>\n

I know, the role that rascally humans play in climate change is the issue. \u00a0And I believe that, too. \u00a0I\u2019m sure there are other reasons behind the changing climate. \u00a0But I can\u2019t dismiss the role that our modern approach to technology and industry has had on things.<\/p>\n

Of course for me, the lesson there is \u2018be wary of handing science a blank check.\u2019 \u00a0If our rush to industrialize, twisting and turning mother nature to suit our purposes, had such dire and unforeseen consequences, then perhaps caution is in order.<\/p>\n

But, like Jane, I\u2019m also suspicious\u00a0about the politicization and hysterics. \u00a0As I always am.<\/p>\n

UPDATE<\/strong>: Jane the Actuary posted a follow up<\/a> from someone with more expertise than I have, which prompted interesting debate from others who seem to invest more into this debate than I do. \u00a0For me, again, I\u2019m fine with the idea that human activity has added to the process. I\u2019m skeptical of anyone who says \u2018case closed\u2019 or \u2018only one side is filled with people who have ulterior motives.\u2019 \u00a0And, of course, I can\u2019t miss the obvious attempts to politicize it. \u00a0But for the inside science details, I leave it to others who get the science more than I ever will.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
