One of modern liberalism\u2019s\u00a0strengths is setting\u00a0up a false premise and then assaulting all who bother to question the false premise.\u00a0 So we have the fact that Muslims condemn ISIS.\u00a0 OK.\u00a0 ISIS kills Muslims.\u00a0 It wouldn\u2019t surprise me.\u00a0 We have Muslims who have, over the years, and to varying degrees, condemned the 9\/11 attacks.\u00a0 OK, that doesn\u2019t surprise me either.\u00a0 Though in the early days, I remember distinctly how much difficulty the media had finding Muslims who would just condemn the attacks without tacking \u2018the Crusades!\u2019 or something similar onto the statement.<\/p>\n

And, of course, we have Muslims who hate seeing puppies killed, cats tortured, babies crying, towns destroyed by storms, and bad reality TV.\u00a0 All proving that Muslims are, in the end, people.\u00a0 Just like us.\u00a0 I have yet to meet a self proclaimed Conservative who would say otherwise.\u00a0 That\u2019s not the problem. <\/p>\n

Here is the problem.\u00a0 When Terry Jones, pastor, threatened to burn a\u00a0Quran back in the day, all hell broke loose.\u00a0 Everyone condemned him.\u00a0 Polls showed that the majority of Americans didn\u2019t support him.\u00a0 And yet, his actions brought about weeks of news shows, anchors and talking heads lamenting how the whole incident just goes to show you\u00a0America always was and still is a\u00a0bunch of racists in a racist nation.\u00a0 And no matter what Americans do for the good, America as racist Islamaphobic nation is the ongoing narrative. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s my problem.\u00a0 You\u2019d think in light of 9\/11, San Bernardino<\/a>, Fort Hood<\/a>, Boston<\/a>, Philadelphia<\/a>, \u00a0Chattanooga<\/a>, that\u00a0Americans \u2013 being the Islamaphobic racists that we are \u2013\u00a0would be wandering up and down the street, blowing up mosques and\u00a0butchering any Arabs and Muslims we can find.\u00a0 And yet, on the whole, out of 300 million racists, we\u2019ve shown some pretty\u00a0awesome restraint.\u00a0 Or so you\u2019d think. But all it\u00a0takes is a little graffiti, or a broken window, or a Muslim who merely says she fears anti-Muslim sentiment could be growing, and it\u2019s RACIST\u00a0NATION!\u00a0 <\/p>\n

On the other hand, let one host on an Iraqi television show do the humane thing and cry over the plight of Christians, and it\u2019s as if all 1.6 billion Muslims and the entire history of Islam have just been redeemed. And if you so much as suggest that, while it\u2019s nice and all, it doesn\u2019t\u00a0really mean\u00a0anything in the bigger picture, or it\u2019s a common human reaction but there are other factors to consider, or wonder why America never seems to receive the same considerations based on humane Americans, then it\u2019s RACIST NATION! <\/p>\n

See how that works?\u00a0 The fact that the fellow cried is nice.\u00a0 It\u2019s good.\u00a0 It\u2019s normal.\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t be shocked if most Muslims, when presented with the horrors of Christians slaughtered by\u00a0ISIS, would do the same thing.\u00a0 Most people I know would likely say that to some degree or another. But in the end, it doesn\u2019t matter to the larger issues and questions of the day. <\/p>\n

Or at least let me put it this way: It shouldn\u2019t matter any more than the majority of Americans condemning Terry\u00a0Jones or\u00a0standing with Muslims in trying times never seems to matter.\u00a0 At least then we can be consistent.\u00a0 If consistency and truth are, in fact, what modern liberalism wants. <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
