Body slam a reporter<\/a>. \u00a0Geez. \u00a0Self control man.<\/p>\n

I know, there are plenty of jokes out\u00a0there about living the American dream (body slamming a journalist). \u00a0But it\u2019s not funny.<\/p>\n

The good news is he\u2019s actually being charged. \u00a0The bad news is he\u2019s likely to get more votes than he should. \u00a0Some people, I\u2019ll give, don\u2019t hang on the news every day and might have missed this before they voted. \u00a0And I don\u2019t know about early voting in these cases. \u00a0Perhaps 10% or 15% can be given for those outside the loop. \u00a0But I fear he\u2019ll get more than he ever deserves.<\/p>\n

Note: I realize he is only charged, and innocent until proven guilty. \u00a0But assuming it\u2019s true, even if he wins through absentee or other means, charges should\u00a0carry consequences.<\/p>\n

UPDATE<\/strong>: Well, heh, it looks like he won anyway. \u00a0I\u2019m looking at the numbers. \u00a0According to CNN, there were quite a few early ballots cast. \u00a0Out of the quarter million or so votes, I don\u2019t know what percentages that accounts for, but it still isn\u2019t everything. \u00a0Clearly, the ones who voted for him yesterday weren\u2019t moved. \u00a0Yes, I know he\u2019s innocent until proven guilty. \u00a0And that\u2019s a fair defense \u2013 the only justifiable defense. \u00a0If found guilty he could still be removed from (or forced from ) office. \u00a0 But only those invoking \u2018innocent until\u2019 have a leg to stand on. \u00a0Maybe if this had happened a month ago and the case was concluded, it might have had more of an impact. \u00a0Happening on the eve of the election perhaps wasn\u2019t enough time. \u00a0I don\u2019t know. \u00a0Again, if the voters who said yes did so because they say he\u2019s innocent, but needs punished if found guilty, then that\u2019s something. \u00a0Otherwise. \u00a0Way to live up to stereotypes Montana.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
