Gilbert McClure, a retired Kansas cattle rancher, lists his recently deceased son John\u2019s best qualities: integrity, sincerity, honesty.\u00a0 That last one digs deep into his sorrow.\u00a0 You see, John took his own life, and admitting that is heartbreaking.<\/p>\n
His parents didn\u2019t see his death coming; his personality was the opposite of his actions.\u00a0 John was a chef whose popular restaurant was always full.\u00a0 But as his mother Marilyn told The Kansas City Star<\/em>, \u201cYou have to face the truth so you can start the healing.\u00a0 When you say suicide, invariably, someone else will open up.\u201d<\/p>\n Now, his parents are using their son\u2019s death for suicide prevention.
