If you\u2019ve seen movies like The Blind Side<\/em> or TV series like Lost<\/em>, you\u2019ve been exposed to projects that have been worked on by alumni or faculty of the Act One program in Hollywood.\u00a0 Originally a screenwriting school for Christians, it now includes a Producing and Entertainment Executive program as well.<\/p>\n

Since The Christophers have always been concerned with the quality of popular entertainment, Act One\u2019s Programs Director, Vicki Peterson, appeared on Christopher Closeup<\/em> to discuss effective storytelling from a Christian perspective.<\/p>\n

Peterson explained, \u201cThe Act One philosophy is\u2014what the audience does with a film or with a TV show after<\/em> they watch it is just as important as what they\u2019re doing when<\/em> they watch it\u2026We strive to instill in our students that it\u2019s important to respect the audience.\u00a0 It\u2019s important to give them opportunities to think.\u00a0 It\u2019s what God is doing in the hearts and minds of the people watching your material that is important.\u00a0 The way to do that is to create mystery, and to create situations where the audience can\u2026have something to think about.\u201d<\/p>\n
