Those on Buddhist Global Relief<\/a>\u2018s e-mailing list received the below message from Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi, the organization\u2019s founder and chairperson, this past Friday:<\/p>\n

I am pleased to announce that on\u00a0Friday, April 25, 2014\u00a0at 7 pm, Buddhist Global Relief (BGR) will be holding its third annual Concert To Feed The Hungry. The concert will be held at the\u00a0Interchurch Center, 475 Riverside Drive, New York, NY,\u00a0between 119th and 120th Streets.<\/p>\n

Esperanza Spalding and Kenny Werner, two world-renowned jazz artists, will headline at the concert. In addition to their prolific output as recording and performing artists, Spalding and Werner are firmly committed to making their music a force for positive change in the world, and they will be joined by some of New York\u2019s leading musicians at the Interchurch Center for a double bill. The concert is produced by jazz saxophonist Dan Blake (who will also play in Kenny Werner\u2019s quartet) along with a team of dedicated volunteers from BGR.<\/p>\n

Funds raised from the concert will go to support BGR\u2019s projects, which give vital food aid to poor communities around the world and promote greater food productivity at the grass-roots level, both locally and globally.<\/p>\n
