[Ooops. \u00a0This week isn\u2019t<\/em> Holy Week! \u00a0For some reason, I keep thinking that Easter is this coming weekend. \u00a0But it\u2019s not<\/em>. \u00a0Does anything like that ever happen to you<\/em>? \u00a0My apologies.]<\/span><\/p>\n This week is \u201cHoly Week,\u201d about which I wrote this column<\/a>\u00a0a while back. \u00a0(I have fairly strong feelings about Holy Week.) \u00a0And here are a couple of potential resources for this week for Latter-day Saints:<\/p>\n \u201c#BecauseofHim: New Ways to Celebrate Christ This Easter: New resources at ChurchofJesusChrist.org provide ideas and ways to share and celebrate Christ this Easter season\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cApostles Share Messages of Jesus Christ during the 2024 Easter Season\u201d<\/a>\u00a0 (Thus far, Easter messages are up from Elders Gerrit W. Gong, Ulisses Soares, and Patrick Kearon.)<\/p>\n You might be pardoned if, after reading these two articles, you confusedly came to imagine that Halloween must be just around the corner \u2014 or even that, among Latter-day Saints, every day<\/em> is Halloween:<\/p>\n NBC News: \u00a0\u201cBYU now requires incoming students to read controversial \u2018musket fire\u2019 speech: The 2021 address, which defends \u201cmarriage as the union of a man and a woman,\u201d called on members of the Mormon church<\/a> to defend its teachings with \u201cmusket fire.\u201d\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0Try to picture the combination of insanity and brazen effrontery that is required to suggest that \u201cmarriage\u201d is \u201cthe union of a man and a woman.\u201d \u00a0Who would ever believe<\/em> such a thing, let alone say it in public<\/em>?<\/p>\n Incidentally, I published an article in Meridian Magazine<\/em> on 7 September 2021 in which I shamelessly defended Elder Holland and that very \u201cmusket fire\u201d speech: \u00a0\u201cElder Holland: What They Heard is Not What He Said.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0 And I stand by what I wrote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Daily Mail<\/em>: \u00a0\u201cFormer Mormon lifts the lid on church\u2019s \u2018creepy\u2019 baptisms for the DEAD that sees children being put through \u2018traumatizing\u2019 ceremonies to \u2018save\u2019 those who have passed away<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a>
