Global Media Award Recognition for The Interpreter Foundation and RedBrick FilmWorks\u2019 Historical Feature Film SIX DAYS IN AUGUST<\/strong><\/p>\n

Orem, Utah, Jun 6, 2025 \/TIFNewswire\/ \u2014 The Interpreter Foundation and their media partner RedBrick FilmWorks announced today that they are the winner of three Telly Awards for their theatrical feature film, Six Days in August.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Telly Awards is a global award program that honors excellence in film, video and television across all media formats. They were established in 1979 and have evolved to recognize a wide range of content, including movies, documentaries, commercials, and social media.<\/p>\n

The movie Six Days in August <\/em>was awarded two Silver Tellys: one for Narrative Film, and another for Historical Film. The movie was also awarded a People\u2019s Choice Bronze Telly. Out of thousands of entries, Six Days in August<\/em> was one of only six recipients of the Silver Telly for Narrative Film.<\/p>\n

This is the second Interpreter Foundation film production that has won a Telly Award. Their previous feature film, Witnesses,<\/em>won a Bronze Telly in 2021.<\/p>\n

Six Days in August <\/em>tells the dramatic true story of a youthful Brigham Young and the leadership succession crisis of 1844 following the martyrdom of the Prophet Joseph Smith. The title of the movie refers to the pivotal period in August of 1844 when Sidney Rigdon and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, led by Brigham Young, stated their respective claims for leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints<\/a>. The Saints had never before experienced the death of a Church President; this was uncharted territory. The film introduces a young, much lesser-known Brigham Young, with exceptional spiritual gifts, as well as a history of hard work, fortitude, sacrifice, and service that uniquely prepared him to lead at that exact time.<\/p>\n

The Interpreter Foundation is a nonprofit educational organization focused on supporting The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through scholarship, with particular emphasis on the scriptures of the Church, as well as early Latter-day Saint history, and related subjects. In concert with RedBrick, the Foundation continues to produce media content, including their upcoming series Becoming Brigham<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As we often do, my wife and I enjoyed dinner with a group of our friends last night \u2014 well, with her<\/em> friends, anyway; given my notorious defects of both character and personality, it\u2019s scarcely plausible for me<\/em> to claim friends! \u2014 at the Joy Luck Restaurant<\/a> in Sandy and then we took in a production of Finding Neverland<\/em> <\/a>at the nearby Hale Centre Theatre<\/a>. \u00a0Somehow, even in my Disneyland-going and Disney-movie attending childhood, I was never especially smitten with Peter Pan \u2014 unlike my wife, who says that she had a very young crush on Peter. \u00a0That blind spot limits my potential for appreciating Finding Neverland<\/em> just a little bit, and I don\u2019t find the play\u2019s music especially memorable. \u00a0But the performance was superb, and they used the remarkable resources of the theater extremely well. \u00a0We enjoyed it very much.<\/p>\n

(Wikimedia Commons public domain photograph) \u00a0Here\u2019s a prediction: The prolonged fierce opposition to a proposed Latter-day Saint temple in Fairview (denounced by opponents as too large and too obtrusive) will be somewhat diminished, eventually, when leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints agree to construct the temple within the confines of a converted 26K-gallon gas station fuel tank that will then be buried, with a concealed entrance disguised by faux<\/em> brush and litter, beneath a landfill located several blocks from City Hall. \u00a0However, demands for further concessions will then be presented to Church leaders after that compromise is reached.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Yes, I\u2019m well aware of the widespread and powerful \u2014 but, thus far, completely unexpressed \u2014 desire for me to say something about the riots in Los Angeles, my native town (more or less). \u00a0So, although I won\u2019t compromise my desire to avoid partisan politics in this blog, I\u2019ll make two brief comments:<\/p>\n
