Steadfast in Defense of Faith<\/em>: \u201cFoundations of a Sacred Latter-day Saint Worldview: A Literary Reading of Doctrine and Covenants 59,\u201d<\/a> written by Steven L. This perspective claims that all peoples, from traditional to modern and from simple to complex, make sense of their seen and unseen worlds in terms that are meaningful for them but that may seem strange\u2014absurd even\u2014to those from different traditions. Worldview is an academic term that refers to the most comprehensive expression of human consciousness. Scholars recognize several subsets of this analytical concept, including the temporal, spatial, ontological, metaphysical, theological, human, social, and moral dimensions of existence. The present study is not a systematic, comprehensive exposition of a given worldview and its sociocultural implications. Rather, it is an examination of the literary craftsmanship of a sacred text belonging to a specific cultural group, illustrating how the tools of language, including diction, syntax, rhetoric, figures of speech, and structural logic, reveal key dimensions of the group\u2019s meaningful universe.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Interpreter Insights Podcast<\/em> \u2014 March 5, 2026: BYU\u2019s New Testament Commentary<\/em> Series, with Brent Schmidt<\/a><\/p>\n In the 5 March 2026 episode of The Interpreter Insights Podcast<\/em>, Terry Hutchinson and his guest Brent Schmidt discuss BYU\u2019s New Testament Commentary<\/em><\/a> series, in which Brent has been involved.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n I had hoped to attend at least some of the events at the Zions Indie Film Fest<\/a> this past week, but I ended up having a cold \u2014 and, given my signature selfishness, I was unwilling to share it with others. \u00a0But I\u2019m very happy to report that Camrey Bagley Fox, who played Emma Smith in the Interpreter Foundation films Witnesses<\/em> (2021) and Six Days in August<\/em> (2024) and who is one of the co-hosts of our ongoing Interpreter Foundation series Becoming Brigham<\/em><\/a>, took home the Best Actress award<\/a> for her role in the Bagley family film production Sense & Sensibility: A Modern Retelling<\/em><\/a>. \u00a0Congratulations to Camrey!<\/p>\n And, while we\u2019re at it, the teaser for Episode 7 of Becoming Brigham<\/em> (Becoming Brigham<\/em> TRAILER\u2014\u201dYoung Brigham Young,\u201d Part Two<\/a>) has now been posted. \u00a0The full episode will appear on Monday.<\/p>\n Episode 6 the series (Becoming Brigham<\/em>, Episode 6\u2014\u201dYoung Brigham Young,\u201d Part One)<\/a> is already up online. \u00a0And all six of the currently published installments are available at the home page of the series, which is becomingbrigham.com<\/a>. \u00a0Our plan \u2014 with one or two possible exceptions down the line, when we may do something a little different \u2014 is to put a new episode up on the Monday of each week.<\/p>\n In a time of international conflicts and tensions, deep political and cultural divisions, and a perceptible general decline in civil and charitable dialogue between religious and political factions, I\u2019m deeply gratified to see attempts such as this that are intended to spread good will, to foster faith and optimism, and to build bridges between nations, cultures, and peoples: \u00a0\u201cTabernacle Choir Points Hearts to Jesus Christ in S\u00e3o Paulo.\u201d<\/a> \u00a0And I\u2019m delighted that we have a Brazilian apostle<\/a>. \u00a0(Moreover, for what little it may be worth, I quite like the setting and the slightly unusual look of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple<\/a>\u00a0of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints<\/a>, which is nearing completion and which, in addition to Brazil\u2019s eleven currently<\/em> operating temples, is one of thirteen temples that are either under construction in the country or have been announced for it.)<\/p>\n You may have missed these two substantial interviews that I did regarding the Becoming Brigham<\/em> series, which was just being launched at around the time that they were recorded. \u00a0I can\u2019t really recommend either of them, because I\u2019ve never listened to them (and probably never will). \u00a0But a few people have<\/em> evidently listened to them:<\/p>\n Finally, here\u2019s a note that will no doubt appear strange (and oddly vague) to most readers, but that I feel compelled to post: \u00a0Over at The Usual Place, where character-assassinating accusations against me spring up continually like poisonous toadstools on the lawn after a warm autumn rain, I\u2019ve just been angrily accused (yet again, although for the first time in several years) of having entered into an agreement quite a while ago with a person who occasionally posts there \u2014 and then of having brazenly violated that agreement. \u00a0As is commonly the case, there are two sides to this story and, for the record, my side of the story differs from his. \u00a0I kept the agreement according to my understanding of it. \u00a0(I care about integrity. \u00a0I even value my reputation<\/em> for integrity, and I won\u2019t let this anonymous public accusation stand publicly uncontradicted. \u00a0!\u0643\u0641\u0627\u064a\u0629 \u0643\u062f\u0647)<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" \u00a0 The Interpreter Foundation, which went dormant years ago according to prophecy, continues moving by sheer inertia along its unchanging path, illustrated by these two new items on its website: Steadfast in Defense of Faith: \u201cFoundations of a Sacred Latter-day Saint Worldview: A Literary Reading of Doctrine and Covenants 59,\u201d written by Steven L.
