Mormons<\/a> wait to be schooled by their betters, as a\u00a0teacher enters at the back of the room.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some of you may be familiar with Rudyard Kipling\u2019s famous\/infamous\/notorious hymn to American imperialism:<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Take up the White Man\u2019s burden\u2014<\/p>\n
Send forth the best ye breed\u2014<\/p>\n
Go send your sons to exile<\/p>\n
To serve your captives\u2019 need<\/p>\n
To wait in heavy harness<\/p>\n
On fluttered folk and wild\u2014<\/p>\n
Your new-caught, sullen peoples,<\/p>\n
Half devil and half child<\/p>\n
Take up the White Man\u2019s burden<\/p>\n
In patience to abide<\/p>\n
To veil the threat of terror<\/p>\n
And check the show of pride;<\/p>\n
By open speech and simple<\/p>\n
An hundred times made plain<\/p>\n
To seek another\u2019s profit<\/p>\n
And work another\u2019s gain<\/p>\n
Take up the White Man\u2019s burden\u2014<\/p>\n
And reap his old reward:<\/p>\n
The blame of those ye better<\/p>\n
